lost, not lost, Lost, losing

i lost track of time... lying in bed i realized i hadn't posted in quite a few days - turns out, sometimes those days just speed by.  i have been doing some things...  i had my lines snaked and scoped... sewer lines people, sewer lines!!  so have been doing lots of laundry.  that has taken up a few minutes... and then, life i guess...  getting things done around my house, keeping up with my attempt to find more structure in my days.  it seems to be working but i see that at least for now i am going to live and die by 'the list'.

Atcs_are_here

the beautiful atc's arrived yesterday! they are fantastic!  it is great to be able to hold them in my hands and see up close what wonderful work everyone put into these beauties.  i love them, and as i said before, i think i will be doing many more of these atc swaps.  clockwise, these lovely creations above are from kristin, lori, lesley, trisha, mimi and jackie.  if you want to see more of what everyone created go here...

Another_little_pretty

i nearly lost my mind working on this flower bunny.  but, i love how it turned out.  and, it is hard to find fault with a french knot when they look so spectacular all bunched together.  474. i counted...  i had to.

Linen_floss

a couple of months ago i bought some linen embroidery floss in ecru and finally used it a few nights ago.  I LOVE IT, couldn't stop thinking about it. so yesterday i went back and bought some more, but in a wider range of colors.  there aren't as many colors in linen as are available in cotton; i didn't get them all.  it looks like i did, but i tried to use some restraint - i gotta tell you, it. was. hard.  the luster of the linen is wonderful, and the way it takes colors.... so, so beautiful.  last night, while watching 'lost' i wound the floss around little cards and when i was done i had a nice pile of papers - they look like little chocolate wrappers, don't they?  even the color dmc used on the little paper wrappers is beautiful...

ok.... {is anyone else confused by 'lost', do you feel like jj abrahms gets a good idea, makes it too complicated and then before seeing it through becomes distracted with another tv show and forgets to tie up loose ends on the one he is committed to at the present?  like in 'alias' - that show suffered under the weight of too much bizarre shit... i am afraid 'lost' is beginning to buckle as well....}

Linen_floss_and_wrap_1

and finally - i have become so stinking tired of being disgusted with myself that i signed up for weight watchers on-line.  seems i have also lost any semblance of structure in that area of my life as well... so let the losing begin.  it's about freaking time...

French knots. So lovely... :)

I love, love, love that flower embroidery! I bought myself two small pieces of linen (couldn't find much locally) and some DMC embroidery thread in colors I"m not really sure about and still haven't gotten started on my first embroidery, probably for lack of someone to encourage me, but your work is inspiring me. Maybe I'll finally try my hand at embroidery now. :)

BTW, good luck with the weight loss. I've been on a mission for the past three months, working out and watching my portions and it's working. I'm not telling you it's easy, cuz it ain't, but it's doable.
Good luck!

The cards are beautiful.

Your embroidery is blowing me away. It looks *so* good. I can't believe you counted the french knots, okay, actually I believe it. :) But the thought of you doing it made my head hurt.

The linen floss is beautiful. Such a great selection of colors!

Those photos are embroidery floss porn! Gorgeous.

And Lost - yes, I am.

I LOVE your embroidery.
What a precious bunny this is going to be. Wonderful.

You sound so organised, can you write me some lists please? Beautiful cards. Your embroidery is spectacular as always and I love the linen thread.

Oh my goodness after a chat with prairiemouse a while ago I signed up with E-diets online as I have put on so much weight in the last year! I went to see my Mum after about 9 weeks and all she could exclaim about was the size of my stomach - I had to laugh cos she was right. I've lost about 7lbs and it's hard a) being winter and b) living with a family who loves cakes and bikkies and blooming Christmas coming up too! I think we should have a support group the three of us! By the way well done for taking that first step.

that embroidery is WONDERFUL! I wish I had the patience to do such beautiful work. I should Try Harder!!!
Thank you for this lovely post!
take care

hey you talented friend..what a gorgeous bunny in the making..did you really have to count the french knots?! The ATCs are lovely and i love the colours you chose for floss..xxx

I love french knots, too. There is so satisfying about the rhythm of tying french knots. Down up wrap wrap wrap slide down. I can't wait to see the stitches that come from those new colors.

And I'm so glad you got one of my cards. I got one of yours too and the DETAIL - the perfect little stitiches - it is making me so happy. So thanks.

Have a good one!

Oh.My.God. 474 French knots?! Please forget I ever suggested any kind of swap involving mind-losing embroidery.

To make even one French knot, I generally have to consult the instructions five times and try the knot ten.

All of these photos are fabulous. The ATCs are so great--love the dodo! The floss packets look like the nicest little candies, and the sunflower bunny is exquisite. Brava!

I just wanted to tell you that I love the linen bunny - so beautifully done. And I just finished three months of weight watchers on-line and it works, it really does. If you want to comiserate or chat about all the best 1 point foods, I'll be glad to.

I, too, have lost all track of time lately... Your embroidery looks wonderful.
take care, grache

i *luv the colours of the linen floss- so beautiful. i can't even manage ONE french not yet let alone 474!
i'm with you on the JJ matter. why does he always do that? alias is still my all-time fav but the earlier seasons when he still paid attention were definately the best. 'lost' i am afraid is 'losing it'... :0) x

ok, so why have i never seen LINEN floss? this post will have me out to Michael's assuming they sell it there....how sweet to see the embroidery after seeing the bunny...yes, those french knots do impress!!

oh, and so thrilled you liked your ATCs...it was a great swap...thanks again for participating!! :)
